Since its founding in Bayreuth (Bavaria), the agency's business manager Dieter Semmelmann has consistently promoted the business by pursuing new, innovative ideas and taking on new challenges together with his team. In the mid-90s Dieter Semmelmann succeeded in signing up James Last, the most renowned band leader of all times, for his agency's first big tour project, thus laying the foundation for the company's successful development.

Covering a diverse range of genres and subject areas including schlager and folk music, pop and rock, musicals and shows, classical music and ballet, cabaret and comedy and even international exhibitions such as "Tutankhamen – His Tomb and His Treasures" – over 1000 events per year speak for themselves. In addition to its company headquarters in Bayreuth, Semmel Concerts has several branch offices in cities such as Berlin and Chemnitz. It also owns stakes in Promoters Group Munich, Showfactory in Bregenz and LS Konzertagentur in Vienna. The agency's growing presence outside Germany has led to an increasingly long list of European cooperation partners. Since 2000 Semmel Concerts, which employs a staff of around 70 people, has been part of CTS Eventim AG, an exchange-listed company. By merging with Europe's largest provider of ticketing services, Semmel Concerts benefits from the synergies offered by the group while Dieter Semmelmann plays an active, innovative role in defining the company's structures and bringing about further development.
